I've always used 10W-30, although I did try 15W-40 Rotella a while back. The 15W-40 was fine in warm weather, but tractor was hard to start in sub-zero temps. It seems like it takes around 5 quarts.

A more controversial topic is what to use in the transmission and differential. The manual recommends 80W, but you're better off using New Holland 134 universal hydraulic oil in the transmission, hydraulics and differential. If gear oil gets into the hydraulic reservoir (which it will), it will cause problems.
