If your dealer is concerned about future business he might take it back in full or partial trade on another brand. I had a similar experience with a $2200 chipper with a B-S engine that self-destructed after 40 minutes use. The dealer gave me full trade value on the same chipper with a Honda engine. I had owned the machine for about 8 months but hadn't used it much. It would be worth it to talk to him. Good luck, Pete
