I'll bet he and his friends had a good laugh at the "english" he conned into waiting around for 4 hours. Sorry to have to tell you this, but I grew up around them and there is nothing an Amishman likes better than to take advantage of a well-meaning, but naive, "english". It's considered by them to be a big joke. You need to get control of the situation now, or you will be treated like one of their horses. I don't know what state you are in, but here in Pennsylvania if you haul them for money you are considered to be a taxi for hire and you must register with the state Public Utility Commission. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an Amish hater, in fact Amish have some qualities I admire, but I also have to be a realist about them too.
