Guess they need some legit paper trail they bought it with no tag and even then who knows as paper can be made up of all kinds. I just wouldn't buy one without a tag. We even left tags on junked out tractor cases hauled off for scrap. Wrote the numbers down on paper but what good is that if someone took the tags off later at scrap yard and moved them to a stolen tractor? Should have took pics and documented it better or scrapped the tags too probably to keep thieves from using them. It can be hard to prove if no identifying things on it were documented after stolen. Some here have actually traced their tractors or vehicles down to Mexico and went over there and got them back while others lost them never to be seen again. One owner of a local livestock auction thought he was in too big of a hurry pulling up by the sale barn door to run in and out while leaving his diesel pickup running. He walked out to see it heading south for Mexico lol. They did catch it before it made it across the border though about 300 miles away but it had VIN and license numbers on it and still the same color yet.
