You'll have to drain the oil when trying to clean or inspect that primary pump screen in trans and then can see condition of oil too. Was it full of oil? If oil is milky or got water in it you're going to have problems too. If the steering or brakes go away or work hard when you use remotes or rockshaft something may be wrong with that PCV pressure control valve. It does sound like a oil supply or oil problem when everything has problems working. You can view the parts catalog (at left click on parts catalog and enter 4010) at JD parts online to get a better idea of what is in there if you haven't seen that yet.
