I recall Allan awhile back talking about a disease he had or knew of about having old tractors. Well I guess I must have it. Was out on the country last night with a friend tending his dad's cows. His dad is in the hospital with cancer and is not expected to live thru the weekend. The place is already in his name...dad did this when he came down sick. Walking along a row of irrigation pipe and came upon an old Case L in the weeds. He said they used to have it to run the water pump but they bought a bigger pump with a motor on it. Tractor had been setting for years...but does not look bad. The fenders are bent up at the rear and the metal wheels have been cut off and rubber tires installed. I turned the crank and it's free. The mag is even still hot. I ask him what he planned to do with it and he said scrap. I offered to buy it rather than see it melted down and he gave it to me on the spot. Now...ya gotta be really sick to want old iron like that. No idea what it weighs, but am going after it when I get back from Indiana next month. Man...gotta stay out of fence rows, pipe rows and tall weeds....
