I worked indoors most of my working life-only started working outside last ten years, after i "retired"! don't like to get too much sun anyway. My wife got me a large straw hat to wear while on the riding mower, to make some shade. about 10 years ago, a young, new, Dr. in the local office, told me to start taking a baby aspirin every morning. About a week of that, and one morning, i arose to find my nose leaking blood all over the bed and floor!! I thought i had a brain tumor, or something even worse! Ran off to the Dr. that morning! The old Dr. was there, asked me what medicine i was taking! I told him about the baby aspirin. He told me to stop taking it, and drink a beer every day, t'would clear it up. Well, he was right! Never had the problem again! And, i figured 2 beers a day would make me better than one! Worked! Went to the VA to see about getting a new artificial leg. They said to come in to hospital, and bring all of my medicines! HMMMPH! I figured if i took in a six-pack, i'd get a stretch in the slammer, so i took nothing! The lady DR. tried everything to make me look like a weak old-timer, but failed! I think they figured an 81 year old guy didn't have much longer to go, so they tried to discourage me. Heck, i ain't figgerin on leaving anytime soon--have a lot to accomplish, places to go, things to see! Aint life great!! Although, my wife talked me into selling my motorcycle last fall, said she worried about me riding off 200 miles or so, on a nice Sunday! Rustyj

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
