There's probably lots of good loaders out there, and every one of them can be made to break. It would be hard to put a best on any one I think. The ALO Quicke has gotten to be a popular loader in my area, with many of the Ford/NewHolland tractors carrying them now. They look well built to me, although they are probably more expensive than some of the others. I'd find one with the specs you want, and an attachment system that you like. That's probably the most important factor. On the tractor side, I doubt you would go wrong with any that you listed. However, I would add the 30 series Fords to that list, such as the 4630 and the 5030. That would get you into a shuttle transmission and hydrostatic steering as opposed to the power assisted drag link on the 4610. It's nice to get that drag link out of there when fitting a loader. It's one less complication. The 8x4 tranny is good too; just that you don't have a true shuttle. I would not want an 8x2 transmission for loader work. The darn thing is bulletproof and all, but it's got 2 reverse speeds..... 2 slow and 2 fast, which invariably lead to many people riding the clutch in high reverse. I doubt that there would be much price difference between an upper level 10 series and the 30 series at this point either. All depends on what you can find. Rod

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
