We used to have a 15' no-till drill that had alot of negative tongue weight and I managed to loose the pin out of it twice over the years. With the negative tongue weight the hitch would rock up and down and work the pin out the top. I finally learned to loop a piece of #9 wire from the hitch pin handle down through the pin's hole and back up to the handle where I tied it good. It was a pain to get the wire back out through the pin but but smaller wire or the hair pin clips would get pulled out by corn stalks when drilling beans.
