I did not have time to post a photo, but I'll be $%!, the flying rodents and their wonderful kin, have just about nipped the top of every corn plant in our 7 acre field. Mostly nipped, not pulled, some close to the soil, most not, I'm just wondering if it will recover. It really disturbs me as I've tried to keep some of the tradition going here by having at least one field planted every year, used to be 2 but that one was closer to the pond and they tore it up, he would not plant it anymore, can't blame him. Our D.E.C. rep will get a call tomorrow, hate to see him give up on this field, we don't have many farmers left, just one other large operation besides him and that is it.
