If thats the case you probably broke something inside of the steering box. Can't help you much there since I have always been lucky and never had to open one of them up. But if you find you need parts I have a 2N that I'm parting out and the steering box is still there

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
