I have what appears to be a small leak from the head gasket on the Perkins 354 on my MF1105. There is oil and just some small tiny bubbles visible at the front corner of the head just behind and to the left of the injection pump. How big of a problem is this? I realize if it got real bad then it would have to be repaired, but if it stays as a small leak can I just live with the oil leaking down the side of the block. Am I also loosing compression in one cylinder due to this or all the cylinders? Any idea of the cost if I were to pay somebody to do this or is the replacement of the head gasket something that somebody who hasn"t ever done it before but is consistently performing mechanical tasks for the first time with decent results could do? Any help would be appreciated.
