I have been doing some controlled burns on my property the past few years. Each spring I have been burning the dead grass and weeds off. Since I started doing this I have noticed WAY fewer ticks on myself and my dogs. I think the burning is killing them off, destroying their eggs, something about that burning is gettin 'em. The year before I started doing this I could not go our without coming back with at least 6 ticks on me and 6 more on each dog.
