All these guys have given some pretty good views on the logs. I have been in on raising 3 log homes, at the two using pole trucks full grown men with experience were severely injured at each home. On the third home they had a 2000 Ford with a front loader. It was the only one where no one was injured. I would vote to use the loader again over the boom truck. Water the tires and load the bucket to prevent rear up, skid the logs. Put forks on the loader, then put tongs on each fork, or anything to secure the logs to the forks. Be as slow as it takes to be safe. BE CAREFUL no matter what equipment you use. Remember you can be safe a number of times, but you only get killed once.
