Greetings. I am completing a hay pole barn designed for my accumulator / grab setup (20x60x15, 4 open bays). I am putting #3 stone on the floor (railroad ballast size) and going to be setting the hay directly on it (I already do this in another barn with no mold/moisture problems). My question: would there be any advantage/disadvantage with putting a moisture barrier under the stone - heavy plastic in 6 or 8 mil? I know it"s done routinely in house crawl spaces to keep the moisture from coming up. Thanks in advance to all those who respond.
