Yes our Parents were great but where did they go wrong. They must have not taught us something along the way because as Parents of the 80's and 90's we changed everything. We insist on bottle water; bike helmets; cars with air bags; and we want to sue over a skinned knee. We also provide all the things you listed to our kids that keeps them inside. Mom and Dad both have jobs so they can live in a big house and have 2 SUV’s just to say we are keeping up with the Jones. I really wonder how mom and dad did it on one pay check; a bank that closed at 2pm and a grocery that closed at 8pm and both were closed all day on Sunday. I associate every thing you said with country folks now and feel it is the city that has changed. I will back that statement up by reminding you of Katrina and New Orleans. The storm devastated a very large area but you never heard a word out of the small towns along the Gulf Coast or the interior of La. It all came from the big city. Yes there was crime in the small towns but nothing like what was going on in New Orleans. I mean what kind of moron does it take to shoot at a National Guard helicopter that was sent to help you then turn around and b1tch when they shoot back. This may hit home with some so think about it. When you say times have changed from the good old days; we are the ones that changed it or allowed our system to change to where it is today.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
