I survived after being born in 1950. With all the rules and regulations it seems amazing now. One thing you failed to mention is that if we wanted some spending money, we didn"t take out our debit card that mom and dad pump funds into, we actually would take the lawnmower that didn"t have a brake on the blade when you let go of the handle and head down the street with it. Whenever we got back was fine as long as we kept the lawn mowed at home. We bought our own gas out of the lawn mowing money we got and we bought whatever mom approved of with the extra. At about 12 years of age, we would go out and line bales and drive truck for the hay hauling crew (a penny a bale and if you worked hard enough you could make enough in a day to buy two new pair of Levi"s). Ddn"t have a lot of time to get into trouble and if you did YOU got yourself out of it. Better quit now. Thanks for the memories Sam Dan
