I think I remember reading an article in "Two Cylinder" about a Deere assembly plant in Mexico (Monterrey?). I think those models you mentioned were assembled there. In fact, I decided to roust my cousin (4th generation farmer with serious case of JD tunnel vision) about this issue and asked him if he knew what major American company was one of the first to do outsourcing as long ago as the 50's. When I told him, he wouldn't believe me and I've yet to see him again to show him the article. He's one of these guys who thinks that John Deere walked on water and went to the mountain to bring back the 10 Commandments. Interesting part of all this is that his own father said many times that their 46 Farmall M with a loader did more to keep the farm going after the war than the JD's did. AND--I'm not trying to start a color war here! I love my JD B, A and 70 ALMOST as much as I love my Farmall Super C, Super H, Super M and Ford 2N. OK???

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
