Good thing I didn't have 40 more acres of oats to do or I might have strangled myself. On the way home from elevator with empty truck this morning,it starts missing and I barely made it home. After first hopper of oats I was smellin antifreeze. Got out and water pump on combine was leakin like a seive. Went got one put it on. Two more hoppers and was done about 2:00. Raked what was cut on Saturday and started baling straw. First bale endgate opened before I got it tied,so had to unroll that one and bale it again. Naturally I plugged the baler trying to rebale. The twine cut arm spring broke so the tie arm was catching the cut arm and shearing the bolt. Did it three times before I figured out what was causing it. So it took all day to combine 8 acres and make 6 big round bales of straw. And you know what its still hot out there. I quit for the day. Gary

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
