Might look at the EGR control side. My 96 Ford PU had drivability problems and turned out being the tranducer that determines EGR flow. Funny thing was, fixing that also turned out the CEL and dropped the O2 sensor code that had been in there for years. Try pulling the vacumn tube off the EGR and see if low/mid speed operation improves. Steve
