I put an over-drive unit ahead of the 4 speed manual transmission in my 88 one ton-- built a strong 454 -4:10 gears empty it gets a little over 10 MPG and it cuts the RPM down from 2800 to 2200 at 60MPH--plus it splits gears when I have a load behind it--the OD unit was $1300 plus shortening the drive shaft
