All of the answers regarding strength, galling, and paint retention are exactly correct. Personally, I only use stainless where these limitations are NOT a factor on MY 'keeper'/working tractors. BUT I DO replace ANY fastener with stainless where I consider it appropriate. They DO have their place on the ranch. ESPECIALLY on implements and accessories. jim
