Joe if you're going to be cutting hay and more than likely you will want to use a disc mower,and they require 50-60 hp if you're on steep ground 70 hp will be more comfortable.I've got a J.D 4000 (96 Hp)I use for my disc mower,and pull a 1560 M.F.roller. If you got plenty of time and you like to piddle around,the smaller tractor is alright (want run a disc mower safely on steep ground) most farmers have two or three jobs and they have to turn and burn,and the high hp tractors suit me better to get the job done and move on. gman
