Get a scan tool on it. If there is a mis-fire, it will even tell you which cylinder, and, in any case, it will show you the trouble code that is causing the light to come on. It may be anything from a minor emissions "glitch", to something more serious. Funny you didn't mention the MIL light in the first place!
