Safety and Kids

I have to get everyone who has children to read this. I don't know how to get this story out to the general public, so I am submitting it to every forum I can find. You guys have helped me in the past.

On Sunday, July 23, 2006, My 4 year old grandson Justin lost his right leg just below the knee when he was accidentally run over by a riding mower.

His mother was mowing around his play house when bee's started coming out from a nest in the overhang. As she jumped off the mower to avoid the bees, she tried to get the mower into neutral or over shot it into reverse or bumped it into reverse. Justin, somehow, was behind the mower at the time and was knocked to the ground and his right leg was trapped under the deck.

He was Mercy flighted to Strong Hospital in Rochester, New York.

After 6 hours of surgery, the surgeons could not reattach the lower portion of the leg. He is in intensive care and is scheduled for another 2 hours of grafting on Wednesday.

Neither safety switch, one when getting off the seat - kills the engine or the one that stops the blades as you reverse, worked properly.

Everyone is totally devastated by this terrible tragedy. Very, very sad situation.

I am asking everyone for prayers for Justin and his parents. His Mom and Dad, Kristen and Brian, have not left his side.
