I just saw the Chadron fire mentioned on Fox News. That is all you got was a mention. The news man was standing on the street in Chicago holding a thermomenter that said 108 degrees. The heat is moving east. Hot in Ia. again. I am not far north of Des Moines. That news man also said Chadron was in the panhandle erea of NE. I didn't think NE. had a panhandle. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
