Most any breed is a killer if you train them and put them up to it. I had two good border collies and they both were good hunters. They need a job between times though which is why I changed breeds. I wouldn't want any of dog I owned to be always tangling with coons. Cause even when you win a fight you still get your scrapes and bruises. Most any dog that will alert you is the ticket. Dog will get the hang of it pretty quick. Now I have a weak and worthless little rat terrior and don't let her size fool you she is a natural born killer. A coon would be sorry she got a whiff of them. Cause she'd put up a heck of a fuss and I'd be out in a wink with the 20 ga.
