I can relate,when I bought my little 424 someoone had already put a pertronix unit in it..after it got warmed up real good,it would start poppin and cracking a little,rewired it,changed everything,still did it until i sprung for a new module..problem solved,for about 8 months..now it's doing it again..acts exactly the same,if I had the backing plate for the points,I'd put them back in and be done with it..
