fafnir bearings are good bearings. I have used them on many occasions. Fafnir is part of the Torrington company which is part of Ingersoll Rand. If you check out the link below, it takes you to a product page on the timken web site. They have listed bearings under the timken-torrington name and timken-fafnir name. I would not hesitate to use fafnir bearings. They are among the best made. I would even put them up against timken. As a lead maintenance tech on precision CNC machines, I rely on fafnir for a lot of my bearings.
