Started about 2 years ago getting rid of all my gas burners and going to diesels which cut consumption on same HP machines 2/3rds Only gas burner that will be left on the farm are the really old antiques. So now I'm spending about the same $$$ on fuel as I was when gas was $1/gal. Best machine I have on fuel is my Yanmar YM 330 I use to rake hay and general all around use which burns a little over a qt of diesel an hour. Even the 1650 Oliver diesel uses only about 1 gal/hr pulling a New Holland 851 baler. Gas burners are now musem pieces as far as I'm concerned with high energy costs what they are we just have to adapt to the situation as Americans have always done.
