Well since you said you found rust in the engine I'll almost bet the preassure wasn't low but a little bit of rust got to the preassure gauge and clooger it a little till it sat and drained back in to the pan. On those gauges theres only a pin hole so it doesn't take much to clog it and then of course you will not see the preassure that is really there. I would also put a new head gasket on before you hurt the head or the block running it with the old gasket. Also if you plan to park it again for a long time fill the cylinders with oil so it will not lock back up on you and or rust so bad
