Much as I hate to say it, these high prices may be a good thing . . . we've been aware for years that we are running out of the old-fashoned oil-well oil (I make this distinction because there are billions of gallons of oil tied up in the Canadian tar sands), but have never made any real effort to slow consumption or develop alternatives, because these things are too costly compared to gasoline. Maybe the high cost of gas will make the alternatives competitive and we will eventually be able to to lower the price of crude oil. I hear that there are soon to be available kits for running non-e85 cars on e85. Tex

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
