The only differences I know of are the rear axle housings and the hydraulic connections. 48 had round axle housings. 52 had square axle housings. 48 used a threaded retaining nut to hold the hydraulic connectors in place. On 52 the hydraulic connectors were held in place by small lever device that would allow them to disconnect instead of tearing the hoses if the implement you were using came unhooked. The change was made in 49.
