My wife had complete colon removal when she was 34 yrs old.Not cancerous. She's doin' fine at 52. This is such a serious surgery that I don't believe he would make it.After surgery complications and lifestyle change isn't a treat either. Let him live out his life in dignity and if he's called home so be it,God will take good care of him and he will be happier than spending his last days in and out of hospitals. You say he's sharp in his mind yet, use this time to remminice and ask all the questions about the past that only he can answer. My dad died of lung cancer exactly a year ago after a long battle. He was tired of fighting a losing battle and was ready to go home. Life,to him at that point, was worse than dieing. It was the first peacefull and restfull day he had had in a year. Hopefully you can take him home where I'm sure he wants to be. Our prayers are with him and your whole family.
