Michigan has a TR-54 form and certificate. You fill out a piece of paperwork, get the police to do a safety inspection(they also check the vehicle history for possible use in crimes or leins against the vehicle) and the inspecting officer signs when finished. You can then go apply for a lost title. I did this with a car I brought back from Oklahoma and didn't get the title for. Good luck, Anthony
