When I was farming using a JD 4440 I'd put cans of soup, ravioli, etc. on the exhaust manifold. I never had one explode, and for obvious reasons, I never vented them.
I'd put it on about 10:00 (remove the label first, of course), turn the can at 11 or 11:30 and eat anytime after noon.
I also would "cook" for the guys with the 4 wheel drive tractors with the 903's in them. There just wasn't a good spot with enough heat where a can would lay.
