5000 Ford

I have a buddy with a ford 5000 row crop and the power steering leaks and after setting about a month it drained out . He filled it but still has no steering . I figgered the pump is not picking up or the system needs bleed of air but I dont want to start foolin with another mans tractor without a good idea what to look for . All other hyd. work fine and it`s a gas model . Is there any help out there ?? and thanks if there is .
