Military Generator/ Battery Charger

A friend has a "Tiny Tim' battery charger generator unit. It is a former military unit or at least some were built for the military. does anyone have any information on them and or a source for former military tech manuals? A wiring diagram would be a huge help! Thanks in advance. J.
