Do not use enamel reducer or gasoline unless you're going to paint it with tar. These items will cause fish-eyes in many cases. All the major paint companies market wax and grease removers that your body man should be aware of. You really should fix the leaks because they could cause problems with the finish after it is applied, even if you cleaned it good.
