While on first thought it seams like a good idea; you may want to think this threw a bit. The PTO shifter; shaft; and the drive line are in the hyd compartment. They need to be lubed. If you take the pump off you will also expose a hole in the side of the block where oil will leak out. Now if you were inclined to do so I guess you could remove the pump and make a block off plate for the engine; and hyd lines. Then you could fill both the hyd compartment and trans with hyd oil and just let it level out between the two.
