Dad, who with Grand-dad was an IH dealer, told me that Ih standardized their PTO's in 1941. Some of the '39-early '41 tractors got changed over by dealers, but some didn't. Dad always warned me that, before buying a pre-'41 H, check the PTO size...and double-check it on a '41, because some came out with the smaller PTO, and some came with the "standardized" PTO.

So I only know what I've been told...and that only applies to Farmalls.
