If the threads are still good in the oil pan, don't scrap the oil pan, just get the old plug out. There is a socket set you can buy(about $20), made by Irwin. These sockets are designed to take off any bolt with a rounded off head. Matco and Snap-On also carry them (for alot more money of course). They work really slick, I have put them on really rounded off heads and they will grip so good that you could actually break the bolt before they will let go. In our area, they are available at Northern Tool and Menards (equivalet to Lowe's in other areas).
