My Dear Wife smoked the handle on a skillet setting on the stove! (The skillet, not DW!) Smoked the kitchen all over, all the cabinets, fridge, stove, floors, walls, ceiling, door frames! Not all that badly, just a slight haze on all of it. Called insurance company--they paid for clean-up, refinished the wood cabinets, painted the kitchen, replaced the fridge and stove, and the skillet! A company called "Fire-dex" did the work. A fine job of clean-up! I belong to the local Fire Dep't. About twice a week, we get calls around supper time, saying it's a problem in the kitchen, some pot or cooker is on fire! I look at my wife, nod my head and say: Some yuppie learning how to cook, or some yuppie kid forgot the pot on the stove in which he was cooking his supper, since his parents were too busy earning money to come home to feed him! and thats usually what it is!
