Their is several reasons why diesel is more than gas now but it all leads back to one reason.

supply and demand

diesel pickups
with the increase in diesel pickups over the years the demand for diesel has gone up while they still get the same amount of diesel out of a gallon of oil.

time of year
fall is here and winter heating oil is being pre bought at this time.

supply outlets
every station sells gas but not every station sells diesel so the markup is greater on diesel at the station level. about .10 to .15 more.

then you need to realize the money being spent on new diesel refining cost. someone needs to pay for all this new equipment; and guess what; we elect you; common man diesel buyer.
