I think the Ford N-series is what you're going to find. A running 8N, 9N or 2N will usually bring $1300 minimum. Non-running can be had for as little as $500. In the past year I've bought a 9N, a 2N and an 8N for under $500, $600 and $900 respectively. None of them ran. The 9N was parted out (junk engine) for a $2000 profit, the 2N was revived and sold as a running tractor for $1500 and the 8N was parted out (needed too much engine work) for a $2000 profit. The problem with a non-runner is that you really don't know what you've got until you can at least get the engine to crank. On the bright side, it takes almost no aptitude to take one of these things apart, and if you start out with a junker, you can part it out and have enough money to buy a better tractor next time.
