Not questioning your diagnosis, but you do know that these old tractors normally have a certain amount of blow by, don't ya? Especially if it is a diesel.

I've got a brand new engine in my 9 with less than 100 hours on it. Blow by up the ying-yang by today's standards. It is how they breathe and it has simply got to be there.
