Be nice but fair and firm. The dealer doesn't want troublesome customers who are aggravation even if they make a profit. If a customers comes in all p*ssy and snarling. The tendency of human nature is to send him out the door even madder. If worse comes to worse. If this is the Cummins I'm thinking of. I've heard tell of leaving the engine in place. Drilling a stress relief hole at each end of the crack. Grinding a bit of a groove along the crack. Running the engine with coolant in but no fan until it hits 220F of so. Drain the coolant and weld the block with nickle rod. Refill imeediately with hot coolant into th still hot engine. And re-run up to 220F without the fan. Let sit overnight to slowly cool. Next day check for leaks and bolt the accessories back on that ha dto come off for access. And drive home.
