Case Lady needed hay a while back. I think she's located in Tulsa. You bring to mind a time of long ago when we always made sure to have plenty of hay for our holsteins. Resulting, usually, in having too much hay. In fact, my brother and I still use the term "TOO MUCH HAY" as an inside joke when we get together. In those days USDA got into the act and arranged for buying, selling and shipping. I remember many a cold winter day when we would load baled hay onto trucks and wagons and haul them into town where we would load the bales onto boxcars for shipment to farmers in areas of drought. I have no idea if any such programs exist today. We got out of the hay business when the holsteins left town.
