No handle? It will crank oddly on the starter motor if the gasket has a piece blown out of it. Another possibility is a valve that is not opening properly, or a chunk out of one. Just keep an open mind on possibilities and don"t make things worse than they already are. Injection equipment does fail, but not too often. A special compression tester is needed for a diesel (400PSI or more) or one can feed compressed air into the clinders, after removing the injectors and checking on the rate of pressure loss. The advantage here is you can find where it is leaking to. Regards, RAB
