Those motors can be made to scream. The weakest link in the engine will prolly be head bolts. But the weakest link in the truck is the auto transmission or the stock clutch. The automatics were detuned from the factory cause a the weak sister overdrive unit in the tranny. Parts are now available to cure these ills, but you need to start there. I've delt with Bully Dog and Gale Banks through the shop where I work. Both are good. Banks is prolly a bit better but it'll cost more too. Buy a "kit" every thing from one supplier. Then if you want more upgrade from the same supplier. Hoss power cost money how fast can ya afford to go?
